A re-master of my entry from Water Month (http://dwellingofduels.net/duel.php?dir=14-05-Water&month=Water&img=14-05-Water) back in May over at Dwelling of Duels. First time entering in close to two years and it was not received well. Was not entirely comfortable with my new setup as I lost a lot of familiar tools when I built my new computer. Hopefully this re-master holds up a little better. Oh, also the first time recording live bass, as well.

Fire Emblem
Together We Ride
2010
Another Dwelling of Duels entry. This was for December's "Free Month" leading up to an event called MAGFest (Music and Gaming Festival). Going through my music and deciding what to do for this month, I stumbled upon an alternate track for the Hyrule Temple stage from Super Smash Brothers Melee. I'd heard this track originally in grade 9 due to an old friend of mine. Like a lot of 'new' things for me, I didn't like it at first. Then I listened to it again, and again, and pretty soon I realized, "Hey, this is pretty epic." So it hit home for me on a nostalgic level, and I knew it was the one I was going to cover.
Dedicated to a certain group of people who put up with me through grade 9 and 10.

Final Fantasy VI
Phantom Forest
2010
This is the first song I created using my guitar. It was made for the Dwelling of Duels competition during "Forest Month" in October. This version is actually different than the one that was entered for that competition. Based on some of the reviews and on some techniques I had recently picked up I re-mastered the song. Despite this, it still isn't the greatest song ever. The drums are programmed and are a free drum soundfont, the bass is also a programmed soundfont, and, of course, being a beginning guitarist, my playing lacks some of the little nuances that apparently I should have a handle on by now. Like vibrato on long notes. Yeah...

Final Fantasy I
Gurgu Volcano
2010
Up until this point I had been working on orchestral arrangements only, and had decided to try my hand at piano. Although the arrangement is done, the piano soundfont does not work well (panning issues) and the arrangement is too mechanical (or so I've been told). Regardless, I think its pretty decent.

Pokemon R/B/Y
Pallet Town
2010
This song was on my list of "Themes to be Arranged" so finally one day I sat down and started on it. I dropped it into a minor key, and started building it. It kinda came out like some kind of castle theme, so I named it as such.

Final Fantasy IX
You're Not Alone
2010
This is one of my favorite themes from Final Fantasy IX, and as such, I wanted to do something epic with it. I started out by borrowing from the Star Trek: The Next Generation theme. The idea of a slow opening leading up to an epic theme. I built the song up from there. Upon further revisions, however, I dropped the 'epic intro' and replaced it with something that was a little easier to 'humanize' (because thats a big thing over at OCRemix). Anyway, this was the final version. It didn't get anywhere on OCR, but I still enjoy listening to it, so I guess it fufilled its purpose.
